LA RESPONSABILIDAD DE LAS EMPRESAS DE RESPETAR LOS DERECHOS HUMANOS

En junio de 2011, el Consejo de Derechos Humanos de las Naciones Unidas hizo suyos los Principios Rectores sobre las empresas y los derechos humanos que le presentó el Representante Especial del Secretario General de las Naciones Unidas, Profesor John Ruggie. Con ese acto, los Principios Rectores quedaron consagrados como la norma de conducta a nivel mundial que se espera de todas las empresas y de todos los Estados en relación con las empresas y los derechos humanos.
